Just yesterday the first episode of the expected reboot appeared online Ducktales, lasting 40 minutes. There are already versions with subtitles and even single-voice voice acting(which I wouldn’t recommend). Based on this, I would like to share my impressions.
Many, based on the announcement and trailers, reproached the reboot for its simplicity of art, they say these Disney people have become completely insolent and are pushing low-budget consumer goods to the people. But do not forget that graphics are only one means of expression, and the overall picture is made up of a combination of these means. And in general terms, the first series is doing well, as in the new ones "DuckTales" main on the screen are the characters themselves, and not how richly they are drawn. It is precisely that the drawing does not at all distract from the characters and their relationships, but allows you to feel them.

In the old series, the characters are mostly flat, obviously due to the fact that the children’s audience of that time was taken into account, which was completely different, and the attitude towards it was appropriate. The modern audience watching animated series consists not only of children, but also teenagers and adults, mostly under 30 years of age, which allows creative freedom for many shows. Old Louie, Dewey and Huey were similar to each other and could be mistaken for one character, Webby annoyed many with her, let’s say, preschool behavior, and Mrs. Beakley was just a sweet old lady and nothing more. Now they are quite individuals, and have become each one is interesting individually.
As the characters grew up, the storyline also grew. In new "Ducks" the coherence of the story is noticed, and at the end of the episode there is a small but extremely entertaining cliffhanger, which I certainly won’t spoil. Now it makes sense to watch Ducktales from the very beginning, there was a chance to miss an important plot detail and ruin the experience.
I would like to note that I am not at all I don’t blame the old series. Like many, I love it, appreciate it and generally grew up on it. But the fact that that version of the series exists should not be a reason for anyone not to watch the reboot. On the contrary, I highly recommend that you familiarize yourself with the new interpretation, see how carefully the young authors handle the heritage, and get a bunch of different sensations.
